Laurel N. Holmes built her practice working on a full range of employment law matters while representing employees faced with unlawful treatment at work. Ms. Holmes has successfully sought redress for clients in actions for sexual harassment, disability discrimination, and whistleblower wrongful termination claims, in addition to extensive litigation in wage and hour matters. Ms. Holmes adeptly guides clients through the labyrinth of laws protecting employee rights, illuminating how to hold employers accountable for wrongful termination, discrimination, or loss of earned wages through class actions.
Before joining Laurel Employment Law, Ms. Holmes expanded her complex litigation skill set at a law firm in Los Angeles focused on prosecuting wage and hour class actions and cases under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). Earlier in her career Ms. Holmes served as managing partner for a boutique employment law firm in Los Angeles where she created and implemented training programs to assist new lawyers gain proficiency and confidence. Capitalizing on her ability to effectively communicate the complexities of employment law in a clear manner, Ms. Holmes helps clients understand their rights and employer responsibilities. Ms. Holmes’s notable work includes winning a discrimination case at trial, briefing successful class certification motions, and ensuring that investigations effectively support meaningful resolutions for clients and class members.
Ms. Holmes received her J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law, after earning her B.A. in communication studies from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and has completed both the National Conflict Resolution Center’s mediator training and the California Employment Lawyers Association’s trial college.
