Fueled by a passion for empowering workers, Kaya is a dedicated advocate for employees whose rights have been violated in the workplace. She has experience handling complex wage-and-hour class actions and PAGA matters, representing clients through all stages of the litigation process. Kaya has also worked in direct legal services and impact litigation advancing women's rights.
Kaya earned her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she specialized in both Public Interest Law and Policy and Critical Race Studies. She graduatedĀ cum laudeĀ from the University of Illinois with a B.A. in Global Studies and minors in French and Political Science. During law school, Kaya acted as a Submissions Editor for the UCLA Journal of Gender and Law and as Co-Chair of the Work, Race, and Economic Justice Clinic. Before attending law school, she served as a Boren Scholar in Senegal, where she researched human rights violations against women and girls. Kaya is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese and French.
