Employment Law Representation Across California
If you’re looking for a Southern California employment lawyer, you probably have a short list of worries: whether what happened at work was legal, what deadlines apply, and who will actually pick up the phone. Laurel Employment Law, APC represents employees only, never employers. Founded by a former corporate executive, our firm possesses unique insight into how labor disputes are viewed from both sides of a lawsuit. We proudly serve clients in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties.
Five Offices To Best Serve You
Southern California is a patchwork of commutes, courthouses, and industries. A warehouse worker in Anaheim and a studio assistant in Santa Monica may both face retaliation, but their workplaces, employers, and local courts look very different.

Representing Workers Across LA County
Los Angeles County is home to millions of workers, and the mix of industries is huge. Entertainment and media production, healthcare systems, logistics and the ports, aerospace and engineering, retail and hospitality all employ people we talk to.
Most employment lawsuits in the county are filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, with civil cases heard at courthouses such as the Stanley Mosk Courthouse downtown and the Van Nuys courthouse. Some claims, especially those based on federal law, go to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Our Los Angeles employment attorneys handle these kinds of cases and know how local courtrooms tend to run.
We regularly hear from employees in:
- Los Angeles, Hollywood, and the Westside
- Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Culver City
- Santa Monica, Inglewood, and Torrance
- Pasadena, Glendale, and Burbank
- Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, and Encino
- Long Beach and the South Bay
- Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley
Our FAQ
Have questions? We are here to help. Still have questions or can't find the answer you need? Give us a call at 310-929-6371 today!
-
Do I need to have been fired to have a claim? No. Harassment, discrimination, unpaid wages, and retaliation can all happen while you are still employed.
-
I was fired recently. What should I do first?
Gather your offer letter, pay stubs, performance reviews, and any texts or emails about your job. Write down dates and names while the details are fresh. Then talk with an employment attorney about your options.
-
Which court will my case be in?
It depends on the claims and where the employer is located. Many cases begin in the Superior Court of the county where the job was based, while some go to federal court.
-
What is the deadline to file a discrimination complaint in California?Under Government Code section 12960, a FEHA complaint generally has to be filed with the California Civil Rights Department within three years of the unlawful act. Other claims, such as wage claims or retaliation claims under other laws, have their own deadlines, so it helps to ask about your specific situation early.
-
Do I have to live near one of your offices? No. Employment law in California is statewide, and our attorneys serve workers in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties. Contact us, and we can talk about the best way to meet, whether that is in person, by phone, or by video.
